We have the blank canvas of a new year all stretched out in front of us. We get to paint it however we choose. Love. Adventure. Education. Prosperity. Growth. What I wish for you most this year is the embracing of brutal clarity. When we get clear on the kind of year we'd like to build, everything flows from that... direction, speed, mileposts, trajectory, altitude, and attitude. A Thought to Touch You*Each year I choose a new theme. When I was 6, an older kid in my neighborhood, Tony Brown, took advantage of me. I was selling candy bars for a school fundraiser, and he confused me with counting change, and I came home with zero candy bars and not much cash to show for it. My Dad was furious. Not at me, but at Tony. But I didn't understand that at the time. Since then, I've had a deep and life-long fear of being taken advantage of. Sometimes it's a positive (I read all of my contracts), sometimes not (I'm occasionally too by the book). This year's theme for me will be Secure. Grounded, steady, not anxious about being exploited. What might 2026's theme be for you? A Quote to Inspire You“New Year's Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand.
