I had a great chat with my friend and colleague George Washington III this morning. George is also the leader of World Voices (WoVo). He and I set aside time to chat as friends every few months and today was the day.

George reminded me today how much of our industry is based on luck. Ours, voice acting specifically, is a subjective art, so luck is always a factor.

But if you're relying entirely on auditions and referrals, you're especially beholden to luck. The trick is to minimize its influence by building marketing and business systems that generate repeatable and more predictable outcomes.
