Every Thursday, the latest issue is sent to voice actors and other creative freelancers like you. Each message includes an idea to move you, a thought to touch you, and a quote to inspire you, as well as what I’m writing about that week on YouTube, on The VO Pro Podcast, and in The Pro Blog.
Move Touch InspireThe Newsletter for Voice Actors and Creative Freelancers An Idea To Move YouIt doesn't have to be hard. So often, we try to reinvent the wheel. We start from scratch, don't ask for help, don't learn what others already know, don't have any systems or processes in place, and we wonder why the thing is so hard. Example: Direct marketing to prospects. Hard as hell IF you... start from scratch, don't ask for help, don't learn what others already know, and don't have a robust system. It will kick your ass. But if you ask for help and learn from those who already know how, it becomes stupid-easy. This applies to just about everything you want to get good at. Don't make it difficult. A Thought to Touch You*Starting your voiceover journey doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right gear and a little creativity, you can set up a studio that’s both functional and affordable. It’s not about having the most expensive equipment; it’s about knowing how to use what you have. A Quote to Inspire You"Pessimism doesn't grow your business or even maintain the status quo. The pessimists on your staff make the job harder for everyone around them. They make difficulties out of opportunities."
~ Harvey Mackay
Help For One of Our OwnDee Forman is a voice actor and colleague who lost his Altadena home in the devastating LA wildfires. He was able to save his laptop, passport, a few clothes, and very little else. What he lost was all of his recording equipment, microphones, voice over studio, computers and editing software as well as all of his personal property. Dee is one of tens of thousands of heartbreaking stories from these awful catastrophes. But his is one of us. Please consider joining me in giving what you can, no matter how small. Please consider a donation, no matter how small. Dee's story could be any one of ours.
